Vijay TV initially announced Ponni, Aaha Kalyanam and Kizhakku Vaasal as upcoming fiction programmes. The channel subsequently confirmed 20 March as the launch date of Aaha Kalyanam, with the serial initially occupying the 7:00 PM slot.
