Zee Tamil is bringing the World Television Premiere of Suriya starrer Karuppu as part of its Independence Day special programming. The blockbuster movie will premiere on Saturday, 15 August at 6:30 PM on Zee Tamil.
Zee Tamil, the satellite television partner of Karuppu, has scheduled the much-awaited television premiere for Independence Day. Suriya and Trisha lead the star cast of the RJ Balaji directorial, which also features Indrans, Natty, Swasika, Sshivadha, Anagha Maya Ravi and Supreeth Reddy.

Suriya’s Karuppu Premiering on Zee Tamil
Karuppu will make its World Television Premiere on Zee Tamil at 6:30 PM on Independence Day, Saturday, 15 August. The television premiere follows the movie’s successful theatrical and digital journey.
Produced by S. R. Prakashbabu and S. R. Prabhu under Dream Warrior Pictures, Karuppu is directed by RJ Balaji and presented as a large-scale commercial entertainer.
Suriya leads the film alongside Trisha Krishnan, with Malayalam actor Indrans appearing in a prominent role. Natty, Swasika, Sshivadha, Anagha Maya Ravi and Supreeth Reddy are also part of the principal cast.
Karuppu OTT Release on Prime Video
Before its television premiere, Karuppu started worldwide OTT streaming on Prime Video from 12 June. Prime Video is the digital streaming partner of the Suriya blockbuster.
The Malayalam dubbed version of Karuppu has also been listed as part of Zee Keralam’s Onam 2026 movie premiere line-up, extending the film’s television presence beyond its Zee Tamil premiere.
Karuppu Cast and Technical Crew
Director RJ Balaji has shaped Karuppu as a commercial entertainer, with cinematographer G. K. Vishnu and his team giving the film a rich and stylized visual presentation.
Sai Abhyankkar has composed the music for Karuppu. The film adds another major project to the young composer’s growing body of work in South Indian cinema.
Malayali production designer Arun Venjaramoodu and his team are behind the film’s sets and production design, contributing significantly to the visual scale and atmosphere of Karuppu.
Alongside Suriya, Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Swasika, Anagha Maya Ravi, Sshivadha, Natty and Supreeth Reddy appear in important roles.
Kalaivanan handles the editing, while Anbariv and Vikram More are responsible for the action sequences. Pratheesh Shekhar handles the PRO activities.
With its World Television Premiere on Saturday, 15 August at 6:30 PM, Karuppu becomes one of the major Independence Day movie attractions on Zee Tamil.
