Pongal is one of the biggest festival seasons in Tamil Nadu, and leading television channels celebrate the occasion with movie premieres and special entertainment programs. Thiruchitrambalam premiered on Sun TV on Sunday, 15 January at 6:30 PM, followed by Laththi on Monday, 16 January at 6:30 PM.

Thiruchitrambalam Premier on Sun TV
Thiruchitrambalam was one of the major attractions in the Sun TV Pongal 2023 schedule. The Dhanush starrer was telecast on Sunday, 15 January at 6:30 PM as a Pongal special television premiere.
The film tells a light-hearted story centred around Pazham, a food delivery worker, his breezy friendship with Shobana, and his quirky relationship with his quick-witted grandfather. The story follows these characters as they navigate the complications of their everyday lives.
Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Bharathiraja and Prakash Raj play prominent roles in Thiruchitrambalam. The film is written and directed by Mithran R Jawahar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures.
Laththi Movie Premier on Sun TV
Vishal starrer Laththi was another major movie included in Sun TV‘s Pongal celebrations. The film was scheduled for Monday, 16 January at 6:30 PM.
Vishal plays Muruganantham in the film, with Prabhu, Master Lirish Rahav, Sunaina and Thalaivasal Vijay appearing in other important roles.
Laththi is written and directed by A. Vinoth Kumar and produced by Ramana and Nandha Durairaj under the banner of Rana Productions.
Tamil TV Channels Celebrate Pongal with Movie Premieres
Sun TV was not the only Tamil television channel offering special movies for the festival season. Vijay TV also lined up films including Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Kantara, RRR, Oh My Dog, Viruman and Vikram as part of its Pongal programming.
