Speaking on JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live’, JioStar expert Mark Boucher lauded Finn Allen’s extraordinary century:
“Once Finn Allen gets past 20 or 30, there are very few players in world cricket who strike the ball with the kind of power he does. What makes him special is not just the strength, but the range and cleanliness of his hitting. Whether it was the pick-up shot over fine leg against Mitchell Starc or the straight hits back over the bowler’s head, everything looked effortless. Anything in his arc or under his eyeline, he was striking beautifully. At one stage, it almost looked like he was batting against a bowling machine. It was an incredible innings to watch.”
On KL Rahul’s wicket during the Powerplay:
“KL Rahul’s wicket was a crucial moment because he’s the batter Delhi Capitals build their innings around. Ideally, you want him batting beyond the Powerplay so he can control the tempo through the middle overs. This is now the second time he has fallen around that phase while trying to take the game on. The aggressive role can be taken up by others around him, but KL Rahul’s value lies in going deep into the innings and managing momentum. From a team perspective, his wicket carries huge importance, and they would want him to place even greater value on it going forward.”
Speaking on JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live’, JioStar expert Piyush Chawla spoke about Finn Allen’s knock and his approach against spin:
“This was probably the toughest surface Finn Allen has batted on in the tournament, but what stood out was how well he used the crease. Against anything short, he went deep in the crease, and whenever the ball was in his zone, he capitalised immediately. His reach also allows him to access different areas of the ground comfortably. Having said that, the spinners didn’t consistently bowl the right lengths to trouble him and ended up offering too many scoring opportunities. Once a player of his quality gets into rhythm, he becomes extremely difficult to contain, and this innings showed exactly why he’s rated so highly in T20 cricket.”
On DC’s upcoming fixtures:
“Delhi Capitals still have a mathematical chance. So, there is definitely something left to play for. At this stage, it’s important for the team to stay together, play with freedom, and focus on building momentum rather than worrying about other results. Instead of looking for faults or blaming each other, they need to back themselves, play good cricket, and take pride in the remaining games. A couple of wins can quickly change the atmosphere around the side.”
