On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, Sony SAB artists – Nitin Babu, Rajat Verma, Muskan Bamne, Iqbal Khan and Sachin Kavetham reflect on their heartfelt bond with the state that many now call home. For several who journeyed from different cities to pursue their dreams, Maharashtra has been a land of opportunity, acceptance, and growth. Beyond being the hub of the entertainment industry, it has embraced them with warmth, shaping both their personal and professional lives. From its vibrant culture and rich traditions to its fast-paced yet inclusive lifestyle, Maharashtra continues to leave a lasting impact. This Maharashtra Day, the artists share how the state has influenced them through its people, food, culture, and everyday experiences.
Iqbal Khan, who plays Dr. Dev Mehta in Yaadein, shared, “On Maharashtra Day, I feel grateful for everything this state has given me. When I first came to Mumbai with dreams of making it big, the journey was far from easy. But over the years, Mumbai has given me opportunities, experiences, and a sense of stability. Having spent so many years here, this city has become an integral part of my life. This is the place where I’ve built my life and my family, and over the years, it has truly become home.”

Muskaan Bamne, who plays Shanaya in Pushpa Impossible, shared, “Maharashtra Day always feels special because this is the place where I grew up. I moved to Mumbai at a very young age to pursue acting, and in many ways, I grew up here. Everything initially felt unfamiliar, but Maharashtra embraced me with open arms. Over the years, I’ve experienced its culture, festivals, and even tried traditional Marathi looks, which always make me feel connected to the roots of this place. Today, this city is not just where I work, it’s where I’ve actually started my life.”
Rajat Verma, who plays Virat in Itti Si Khushi, shared, “On Maharashtra Day, I realise how much this state has become a part of me. Coming from Delhi, I was initially unsure of how life here would unfold, but the warmth of the people made the transition seamless. Over time, I’ve fallen in love with the culture, from celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with so much devotion to enjoying simple pleasures like vada pav. The energy of this place pushes you to grow every single day. From local experiences to everyday interactions, this place has played a huge role in shaping who I am today.”
Nitin Babu, who plays Chirag in Pushpa Impossible, shared, “This Maharashtra Day, I feel thankful for the journey this state has given me. Coming from a small village in Jammu & Kashmir, Mumbai felt like a completely different world when I first arrived. Everything was new, the pace, the people, the way of life. But over time, Maharashtra has given me a sense of belonging I never expected. The warmth of the people and the diversity here have shaped me not just as an actor but as a person. Today, this city feels like home, where I’m living my dreams.”
Sachin Kavetham, who plays Siddhu in Itti Si Khushi, shared, “On Maharashtra Day, I reflect on how far I’ve come in this city. When I moved from Jaipur to Mumbai, I had no contacts and no clear idea of how things would work. It felt like starting from scratch. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been a phase of learning and discovering myself. This city has been a big part of that process, from understanding the culture to slowly getting used to the lifestyle here. I’m still finding my way, but every day here feels like I’m getting closer to where I want to be.”
