Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan Part 1, popularly known as PS1 (பொன்னியின் செல்வன் 1), is getting its digital release through Prime Video. The film will be available from 4 November through the rental option, followed by its regular streaming release on 11 November 2022.
Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 was released worldwide in theatres on 30 September 2022 and received positive reviews. The film is based on the celebrated novel Ponniyin Selvan by Kalki Krishnamurthy.

Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 on Prime Video
Prime Video acquired the digital streaming rights of Ponniyin Selvan Part 1. The movie’s digital rights were reportedly valued at around ₹125 crore.
PS1 became one of the biggest Tamil theatrical releases of 2022. As per box-office reports available at the time, the film crossed the ₹200 crore mark in Tamil Nadu alone, setting a major milestone for the Tamil film industry.
