Nenjam Marapadhillai is the story of three lives, Vikram, Satya and Saranya, whose lives get changed after certain incidents. Vikram is an aspiring IPS officer from a joint family. Vikram gets to meet Sathya during a trip and falls in love, but destiny has other plans. He will not be able to communicate or meet her again.
On the other side is, Saranya, a small town good hearted soul and daughter of a police officer in kodaikanal, who is loved by everyone in her town. A local goon called Bhaskar likes Saranya, he forces and threatens her to marry him. Meanwhile, Vikram is posted as new IPS officer in Kodaikanal. Saranya develops a soft corner towards Vikram.
