One of the world’s most beloved animated franchises is finally heading to Indian cinemas. TV Asahi and PVR INOX Pictures have announced the nationwide theatrical release of Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil, scheduled to arrive in theatres across India on October 2, 2026. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, allowing audiences across multiple regions to enjoy the latest big-screen adventure of Doraemon and friends.
The upcoming film is based on the original manga created by legendary Japanese creator Fujiko F. Fujio, whose Doraemon franchise has entertained generations of children around the world. The India release is being presented by TV Asahi and PVR INOX Pictures, while Black White Orange (BWO) will lead nationwide fan engagement and promotional activities.

Doraemon Campaign Begins at CORE Festival
As part of the promotional campaign, Doraemon will make a special public appearance at CORE, a pop culture festival organized by BWO on June 20 and 21 at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai. Visitors can experience a dedicated Doraemon zone featuring themed installations, fan activities, photo opportunities, and a giant Doraemon inflatable. The campaign will later expand through school outreach programmes, digital campaigns, outdoor advertising, mall activations, and fan engagement events across India.
About the Movie
The story follows Nobita and his friends as they embark on an underwater camping adventure using Doraemon’s secret gadgets. Their journey leads them to a mysterious undersea civilization known as the Mu Federation and a dangerous mystery surrounding the feared Castle of the Undersea Devil. What begins as a summer adventure soon turns into a mission that could determine the fate of the Earth.
