Suraj Pratap Singh Remembers His Childhood Celebrations
Suraj Pratap Singh, who plays Prem in Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani, grew up with two elder brothers. Although he does not have a sister, Raksha Bandhan remains connected to some of his happiest childhood memories.
“I don’t have a sister, as we are three brothers in the family, but some of my fondest Raksha Bandhan memories are from my childhood. Since I was the youngest, my mother and my two brothers would take me out for a movie on Raksha Bandhan, followed by my favourite outside food and, of course, lots of rasmalai at home—I could easily eat 10–15 at a time!” Suraj shared.
The actor believes that the festival’s message is not limited to a conventional brother-sister relationship. His elder brother has always protected and supported him, reflecting the true essence of Raksha Bandhan.
“Whether it is a brother-sister, brother-brother or sister-sister bond, siblings may express their love differently, but at the end of the day, they are always there to protect, support and stand by each other,” he said.
This year’s celebration will be particularly memorable for Suraj because Shuddhi, a character from his ongoing show, will tie a rakhi to Prem and become his little sister.
Aarti Birajdar Shares a Special Tradition With Her Sister
Aarti Birajdar, who plays Vaidehi in Thodi Si Umeed Thoda Sa Aasman, does not have a brother. She celebrates Raksha Bandhan with her younger sister in a way that focuses on their promise to remain together through every stage of life.
“We may not have followed the traditional ritual of tying a rakhi since childhood, but we have always known that we will be there for each other no matter what,” Aarti said.
Recalling their childhood, the actress revealed that she and her sister used to cycle to school and tuition together. Her younger sister did not enjoy cycling and would frequently make excuses about her bicycle so that she could sit behind Aarti while her elder sister did all the work.
Despite their busy professional lives, their bond has remained unchanged. For Aarti, Raksha Bandhan means assuring her sister that she will always be available—emotionally, financially and in every other way. Whenever possible, the sisters celebrate with their mother, enjoying delicious food and spending quality time together.
Neha Solanki Celebrates Her Bond From Afar
Neha Solanki, who will be seen as Rajandini in the upcoming show Raajnanndini, has a younger brother who lives with their parents in Uttarakhand.
The actress will be unable to travel home for Raksha Bandhan this year and admits that being away makes the occasion feel incomplete. However, she believes physical distance cannot weaken the love shared by siblings.
“I may not be there to tie him a rakhi this year, but I will definitely make sure he feels my love from wherever I am,” Neha said.
