The second look poster of “Patriot”, which is set to release as a major event in the history of Malayalam cinema, is out. The poster has been released now, featuring Mammootty and Mohanlal in their mass action looks. Along with Mammootty and Mohanlal, Kunchacko Boban is also part of the second look poster. Mammootty and Mohanlal, pointing guns, appear in a getup that excites the audience. It is also noteworthy that Kunchacko Boban is in the driving seat in the poster. This multi-starrer film directed by Mahesh Narayanan, starring Malayalam greats Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead roles, will hit theaters globally on April 23, 2026. Along with Mammootty and Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Rajeev Menon also play important roles in the film.
The film is produced by Anto Joseph and K.G. Anilkumar under the banners of Anto Joseph Film Company and Kichappu Films. C.R. Salim and Subhash George Manuel are co-producing the film under the banners of C.R. Salim Productions and Blue Tigers London. C.V. Sarathi and Rajesh Krishna are the executive producers of the film.
The post-production work, including the dubbing of the film, is currently progressing at a rapid pace. Earlier, Mammootty and Mohanlal had shared the news of the completion of dubbing with the audience by releasing their dubbing footage from the dubbing studio. Apart from this, the first BTS video from the film was also released. The BTS making video from the Sri Lankan schedule of the film was released. Along with Mammootty and Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban were also part of this video.
The film is being made on the biggest budget in Malayalam till date. Patriot was completed earlier this year after more than a year of shooting in more than ten schedules in different countries. Patriot also holds the distinction of being the most-shot Malayalam film in the world. The film was shot in various locations in India, Sri Lanka, the UK, Azerbaijan and the UAE.
The title teaser, posters and BTS video of the film suggest that ‘Patriot’, directed by Mahesh Narayanan after films like Take Off and Malik, is being made with a technical level and canvas reminiscent of international spy thrillers. The title teaser and the second look poster that has just been released indicate that the spectacular action sequences of Mammootty and Mohanlal will be the highlight of the film.
This is also a film that will see Mammootty and Mohanlal coming together after 18 years. Revathi, Jinu Joseph, Danish Hussain, Shaheen Siddique, Sanal Aman, Darshan Rajendran, Sereen Shihab, and theatre artist and director Prakash Belawadi, who is known for Madras Cafe and Pathan, have also played crucial roles in the film.
The film, which is set to hit the theatres with technical excellence that Malayalam cinema has never seen before, was written by director Mahesh Narayanan himself. The film, which has music composed by Malayalam’s trend-setter music director Sushin Shyam, is being shot by Manush Nandan, who has gained attention for creating visuals for Bollywood’s big superstar films. Director Mahesh Narayanan himself is editing the film. Truth Global Films is the overseas partner of the film.
