Some of Bollywood’s most cherished memories are created behind the scenes, and for Karisma Kapoor, many of those moments are closely linked to legendary choreographer Saroj Khan and her son, choreographer Raju Khan.
During a special episode of India’s Best Dancer Season 5, celebrating the spirit of “India Wala Dance”, Karisma Kapoor fondly recalled her long association with the mother-son duo and shared a light-hearted anecdote that continues to bring a smile to her face.

Expressing her happiness at sharing the judging panel with Raju Khan, Karisma said that she had worked with him on several memorable songs over the years and felt privileged to celebrate both his achievements and the legacy of his mother on the show.
The actress went on to remember a playful joke often made by Saroj Khan regarding her successful collaborations with Raju Khan. Karisma revealed that while Saroj Khan was her dance guru and had trained her through many iconic performances, the legendary choreographer would jokingly tease her about delivering more superhit songs with Raju Khan than with her.
According to Karisma, Saroj Khan always appreciated her son’s creativity and took pride in his success. She described Saroj Khan as a positive and encouraging presence who shared a close bond with everyone she worked with.
The emotional recollection offered viewers a glimpse into the warmth, mutual respect, and camaraderie that existed between some of Bollywood’s most celebrated artists. It also highlighted the enduring legacy of Saroj Khan and the strong relationships she nurtured throughout her remarkable career.
