Lionsgate Play has announced the premiere of its upcoming mystery thriller Aliya Basu Gayab Hai, starring Vinay Pathak, Raima Sen and Salim Diwan in pivotal roles. Directed by Preeti Singh, the film will premiere exclusively on Lionsgate Play on June 19.
The thriller revolves around the mysterious disappearance of Aliya Basu, a woman whose sudden vanishing sets off a dangerous chain of events involving deception, greed, betrayal and long-buried secrets. As the story unfolds, three seemingly unconnected lives become entangled in a complex web of lies where nothing is quite what it appears to be.

At the centre of the mystery is Aliya Basu, portrayed by Raima Sen. Her disappearance becomes the catalyst for a gripping investigation that gradually exposes hidden motives and fractured loyalties. Salim Diwan plays Deepak Kumar, a man pursuing what appears to be a life-changing opportunity before finding himself trapped in circumstances beyond his control. Vinay Pathak stars as Vikram Singh, a man who believes he understands the situation until shocking revelations begin to emerge.
Speaking about her character, Raima Sen described the film as more than a conventional thriller. According to the actress, Aliya is a layered and unpredictable character whose true nature remains elusive throughout the narrative. She noted that every revelation changes the audience’s perception of the story and its characters, making the film a constantly evolving mystery.
Vinay Pathak highlighted the psychological aspects of the story, explaining that every character is hiding something and that the narrative continually shifts the viewer’s understanding of who is really in control. He described Vikram Singh as a man whose certainty begins to disappear when unexpected events force him to confront uncomfortable truths.
Salim Diwan emphasized the complexity of his character Deepak Kumar, describing him as someone who reveals very little about himself while carrying significant emotional tension beneath the surface. According to the actor, the film continuously alters the audience’s perspective on every character, transforming it into more than just a traditional mystery thriller.
Produced by Rehab Pictures, Aliya Basu Gayab Hai promises a suspense-filled narrative where every conversation carries hidden meaning, every clue reshapes the investigation and every decision pushes the characters closer to betrayal. The film relies on psychological tension and character-driven storytelling rather than spectacle, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and intrigue.
