Swati Shah from Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri About Her Acting Journey

Many great actors have started their journey under the spotlight of theatre, and one of them is Swati Shah, who plays Jagdamba Devi in Sun Neo’s show Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri on World Theatre Day she shares how theatre helped her in shaping her acting journey.
Swati shares how her acting journey began, saying, “Acting happened to me by chance. Initially, I was a singer—not professionally, just as a hobby. I never took any formal training or did regular practice. One day, someone saw me performing on stage and offered me an acting opportunity. Since I never had stage fear, transitioning from a singer to an actor was quite smooth for me.”
Talking about what she learned from theater, she says, “But yes, I was fortunate to have amazing mentors and directors in my life who guided me. Since I started my career on stage, I learned a lot about how to stand confidently, how to carry myself, and how to deliver dialogues effectively. I stepped into theater right after singing, and from there, I moved to television. During my theater journey, I met incredible teachers who dedicated their time to shaping me into the actor I am today. I am truly grateful to all of them.”

The first and most important lesson in theater is discipline. Discipline is essential for an actor’s career. If you are disciplined, you will be punctual, prepared, and deliver your lines on time.
