Lord Shiva Role Played by Avinesh Rekhi in Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey
Sony SAB’s mythological saga Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey brings to life the powerful tale of devotion, strength, and divine purpose. At the heart of the show is Avinesh Rekhi, who essays the role of Lord Shiva, a character that demands both commanding presence and profound inner calm.

For Avinesh Rekhi, preparation begins long before the director calls “action.” Amidst the bustle of lights, elaborate costumes, and crew movement, he consciously seeks out a few quiet moments on set. Interestingly, the production has created a dedicated “silence room,” a space away from the noise of the shoot where Avinesh retreats to practice, centre himself, and prepare for the divine scenes. This intentional pause helps him disconnect from the chaos and tune into the spiritual depth required to portray Lord Shiva. The stillness before the shoot becomes his anchor. Whether it’s standing in costume with his eyes closed, regulating his breath, or going through the scene, Avinesh uses that silence to internalise the grace, and restraint that define his character. For him, embodying Lord Shiva is not about heightened drama, but about controlled energy and quiet power.
Speaking about his process, Avinesh Rekhi shares, “The sets are usually buzzing with activities like technicians setting up lights, last-minute touch-ups, camera rehearsals. But I make it a point to step into our silence room before important scenes. It’s a space where I can just be still. Lord Shiva represents immense strength, but also deep meditation and calmness. To portray that balance, I need to feel centred within. Those quiet minutes help me regulate my breathing, clear my thoughts, and fully immerse myself in the divinity of Lord Shiva. By the time ‘action’ is called, I’m no longer thinking as Avinesh, I’m responding as Lord Shiva.”
