Sony SAB is set to transport viewers into the legendary world of the Mahabharata with its grand mythological drama Hastinapur Ke Veer, premiering tonight at 9:00 PM. The series explores the early years of the Pandavas and Kauravas, revealing the events that shaped their destinies and laid the foundation for one of India’s most enduring epics.
The opening week focuses on the return of Kunti (Toral Rasputra) and the Pandavas—Yudhishthir (Athar Khan), Bheem (Subhash), Arjun (Urva Savaliya), Nakul (Harit Gabani), and Sahdev (Mayank Yadav)—to Hastinapur after years spent in the forest.

While the Pandavas are introduced as disciplined, wise, and grounded princes, Duryodhana (Ayyudh Bhanushali), influenced by his cunning uncle Shakuni (Chandan Anand), sees them as a direct threat to his claim to the throne. Determined to undermine their reputation before the royal court, Duryodhana devises a plan to publicly humiliate them during their formal introduction.
However, as Kunti and her sons face ridicule before the assembled court, Yudhishthir responds not with anger, but with remarkable wisdom and composure. His unexpected reaction transforms a moment of embarrassment into an opportunity to earn respect, leaving the court with a very different impression of the Pandavas.
Will Yudhishthir’s wisdom be enough to change the perception of the Pandavas in Hastinapur? And how far will Duryodhana go in his quest to secure the throne?
Speaking about the emotional sequence, Toral Rasputra, who plays Kunti, said:
“As a mother, Kunti’s greatest strength lies in the values she instills in her children. After everything she and her sons have been through, coming to Hastinapur is supposed to be a new beginning. So, when the Pandavas are mocked in front of the entire court, it is heartbreaking for her as a mother. What I love about this scene is the way Yudhishthira handles the situation. Instead of reacting with anger, he responds with maturity and wisdom, turning a moment of embarrassment into one of pride. As a parent, there are moments when you silently hope your children will remember the values you’ve tried to teach them and for Kunti, this is one of those moments.”
Tune in to watch Hastinapur Ke Veer, every Monday to Saturday at 9:00 PM, only on Sony SAB.
