“That first moment in front of the camera almost anchors me into my character Srishty’s world, and from there, I build the rest of my performance,”
Tune in to Watch Yaadein, every Monday – Saturday at 8 PM only on Sony SAB
Sony SAB’s Yaadein, adapted from the popular Italian series DOC, brings to life an emotionally layered narrative of memory loss, identity, and second chances. The show follows Dr. Dev Mehta (Iqbal Khan), a celebrated doctor navigating life after losing years of his memory. As he begins to rebuild his world, the people around him, including his ex-wife Srishty (Gulki Joshi), are compelled to confront emotions they have long kept guarded.

Srishty, the hospital administrator, is composed, practical, and emotionally guarded, someone who often chooses restraint over expression. Playing such a character requires Gulki to remain deeply in tune with her emotional graph throughout the day, making continuity not just technical but also internal.
Sharing a behind-the-scenes insight, Gulki Joshi from Yaadein said, “For me, the first shot of the day is crucial because it sets the emotional rhythm for everything that follows. If it’s an intense scene, you naturally carry that energy to the rest of your scenes, and if it’s lighter, it helps ease you into the day. Since my character Srishty is someone who internalizes a lot, I have to be very mindful of where she is emotionally at every point. That first moment in front of the camera almost anchors me into her world, and from there, I build the rest of my performance.”
With such thoughtful preparation and attention to emotional detail, Gulki continues to bring quiet strength and authenticity to her character Srishty, making her journey both relatable and compelling.
