Actor Priyamvada Kant playing Latika in &TV’s Supernatural horror comedy show Gharwali Pedwali. She is known for her dedication and fearless approach to performance, recently pushed her boundaries while shooting for an intense upcoming track. The actress has been performing her own stunts, including a challenging sequence where she had to hang upside down in a harness for extended hours. What initially seemed daunting soon turned into an empowering and thrilling experience for her on set.
Sharing her experience, Priyamvada Kant aka Latika says, “On our show I have done quite a few stunts; almost every week we have a new stunt to perform. Some of the craziest ones have been really challenging. One of them was hanging upside down like a bat. That was extremely tough because all the blood rushes to your head for such a long time, and at the same time you have to deliver your lines while being hung by your feet. When I first heard about the sequence that required me to hang upside down in a harness, I was both excited and a little nervous because it’s not something you get used to instantly. The first few rehearsals were physically demanding as your body needs time to adjust to the pressure and balance, but I was determined to perform the stunt myself as it adds authenticity to the scene.

I also wear a really long wig for my character Latika, so while hanging upside down it kept tugging at my head and pulling my hair. Even though it looks fun and funny on screen, it actually takes a lot of hard work. Of course, we have a safety team and a stunt team who help us perform these scenes and make sure everything is secure. They double-check the equipment and guide us with posture and breathing techniques. But despite how exciting the stunts are, they can be very hectic and sometimes quite painful. One stunt that was a lot of fun but also very difficult was when I had to sit on a fan.
I was literally sitting on the fan while it kept spinning round and round, which made me really dizzy. It looks very funny when you watch the scene, but balancing myself on the fan while it was rotating was quite hectic. During such scenes, all my co-actors show a lot of support and encouragement. Everyone keeps checking on me and cheering me on, saying things like, ‘Oh my God, you are such a brave girl you are really killing it!’ That kind of encouragement really helps when you’re doing something physically challenging.”
She further adds, “There was another stunt where Jeetu (Paras Arora) falls from the terrace and I jump from the terrace to catch him. We’re both hanging mid-air and my head is resting on his chest. They even made a promo out of that scene. On screen it looks very glamorous and beautiful, but if you watch the BTS videos, you will realise how much effort and struggle went into pulling off that stunt.
Right now, the track is quite intense and visually striking, especially with Latika’s ongoing fight to win Jeetu’s love while dealing with Savi (Seerat Kapoor). As actors, we constantly look for experiences that challenge us and help us grow. Doing these stunts on my own has definitely been one of those memorable milestones for me. Overall, the stunts are a lot of fun but also very difficult to perform. We try to make them look easy on screen, but there is a lot of effort and hard work behind every scene.”
