Rajnath Verma Role Played by Farukh Saeed in Sony SAB Serial Itti Si Khushi

With Anvita (Sumbul Touqeer Khan) and Sanjay’s (Rishi Saxena) wedding bringing a significant shift to the Divekar household, the show now gears up for another compelling turn. Adding further depth and intensity to the narrative, acclaimed actor Farukh Saeed is all set to enter the story as Rajnath Verma, Virat’s (Rajat Verma) powerful and enigmatic father.
Rajnath Verma is a self-made business tycoon hardened by power and the unresolved grief of losing his elder son. Obsessed with reputation and control, he lives by the belief that “izzat sabse upar,” masking his insecurities behind wealth and authority. Emotionally unavailable and domineering, he communicates in commands and upholds a rigid worldview. His biggest conflict lies with his younger son, Virat, whose compassion and ideals clash with his hunger for legacy. His obsession with legacy, control and societal image makes him incapable of seeing the son who is still alive in front of him.
Speaking about joining the show, Farukh Saeed shared , “Rajnath Verma is one of those characters that instantly pulls you in because of the sheer complexity he carries. On the surface, he is powerful, authoritative and deeply rooted in his own idea of success and respect. But beneath that, there is a man who is broken, grieving and unable to express the simplest emotions. That duality fascinated me. As an actor, I was drawn to the challenge of portraying someone who appears unshakeable yet is emotionally fragile in ways he refuses to acknowledge. His relationship with Virat is especially compelling, it’s not a typical father-son conflict, but a clash of ideologies, fears and unspoken wounds. The team has been incredibly supportive, and I look forward to seeing audiences connect with Rajnath’s journey.”
