In a candid conversation, Muskan Bamne opens up about her character Shanaya, the ongoing track, and what audiences can expect as this new dynamic unfolds.
- What was your first reaction when you were offered the role of Shanaya?
“When I was offered Shanaya, I was genuinely excited. She immediately felt different from the world we usually see in Pushpa Impossible. Shanaya is strong-willed, outspoken, and used to a very comfortable lifestyle. The idea of someone from South Mumbai suddenly navigating a chawl environment fascinated me. As an actor, it’s thrilling to play a character who disrupts the established rhythm of the story while carrying emotional layers beneath her bold exterior.”
- What excited you the most about joining a show with such a loyal audience?
“Being part of a show that already has a devoted audience is special. Pushpa Impossible has built a world people truly connect with. Shanaya enters this loved space with a completely different perspective, and that clash of lifestyles adds a new dimension. Viewers who are already invested now get to see how a new personality shakes things up.”
- What makes Shanaya an interesting character in the story right now?
“Shanaya brings unpredictability. She’s expressive, confident, and unfiltered. Coming from privilege, she often views situations differently, which creates both amusing and dramatic moments. Her interactions with the chawl residents—especially Pushpa—highlight these contrasts. That clash of perspectives is what makes her presence so compelling.”
- How did you prepare to step into Shanaya’s shoes?
“I focused on understanding Shanaya’s mindset and the world she comes from. Her body language, confidence, and reactions had to reflect someone used to comfort and entitlement. Even the way she walks into a room or reacts when things don’t go her way needed that youthful, slightly entitled energy. At the same time, I wanted her to feel authentic, not exaggerated, so striking that balance was important.”
- How was it sharing screen space with Karuna Pandey again?
“Working with Karuna ma’am after almost ten years has been wonderful. She’s an incredible actor who brings sincerity and depth to every scene. Sharing space with her is always a learning experience. Since Shanaya and Pushpa come from such different worlds, performing those scenes together becomes even more engaging. It felt nostalgic and very special to be back on set with her.” - Without spoilers, what impact will Shanaya have on Pushpa’s life?
“Shanaya’s entry definitely brings unexpected moments into Pushpa’s life. Their personalities and experiences are so different that their interactions naturally create friction and curiosity. Shanaya often approaches situations in ways that surprise Pushpa, and that contrast adds new layers to the story. As their equation evolves, audiences will see engaging, emotional, and even humorous moments.”
- What do you hope viewers take away from Shanaya?
“I hope viewers enjoy watching Shanaya and gradually understand her perspective. At first, she may seem bold or intimidating, but like every character, she has her own journey and growth. As the narrative unfolds, I want audiences to discover different sides of her personality and find her presence entertaining and engaging within the larger world of the show.”
