Sony SAB’s recently launched show Yaadein explores the complexities of life, loss and second chances through an emotionally rich narrative. Adding depth to this journey is actor Gulki Joshi, who essays the role of Srishty Agarwal, a composed yet deeply emotional hospital administrator navigating love, resilience and unspoken feelings. Second chances and unresolved emotions are something we all connect with in our own way, at different points in our lives. What I truly love about Yaadein is how it beautifully reflects that emotions don’t simply fade away with time, they stay with you, and shape who you are and the person you eventually become. It’s a very real and relatable perspective, and that’s something that connected with me on a personal level.

Beyond her role as a hospital administrator, what kind of person is Srishty Agarwal at heart?

At her core, Srishty is emotional, loyal and incredibly resilient. While she may come across as composed and practical on the outside, internally she carries a world of unspoken feelings and emotional depth. She is someone who loves deeply and stands firmly by the people she cares about, rarely giving up on them despite challenges. There’s a quiet strength in the way she embraces her vulnerability and that subtle balance is what makes her such an endearing and relatable character.

Your character shares a layered relationship with Dr. Dev how was it building that dynamic with Iqbal?

It’s been a very organic process. Iqbal is an extremely intuitive actor, which makes it easy for scenes to flow naturally without feeling forced. Since the relationship between Srishty and Dr. Dev is layered with history, emotion and complexity, we consciously focused on the silences and the unsaid moments between them. Often, those unspoken emotions carry more weight than the dialogues themselves. Working with him has made it much easier to bring that depth, nuance, and authenticity to our scenes on screen.

Did you draw from any real-life experiences or observations to shape Srishty’s emotional journey?

Yes, I did draw from real-life observations, especially from relationships where timing or circumstances changed everything. Those experiences and the emotions that tend to linger even after situations evolve, helped me shape Srishty’s journey. Tapping into those feelings made her emotional graph feel more authentic, real and something audiences can truly relate to.

How is Srishty different from roles you’ve played in the past?

Srishty is strong, but her strength is far more internal and subtle. Unlike some of my earlier, more outspoken roles, Srishty expresses herself through silences, emotions and the things left unsaid. That shift was particularly interesting for me as an actor because it required a great deal of restraint and emotional depth. It pushed me to explore a quieter, more nuanced form of performance, which has been both challenging and creatively fulfilling.

How has your experience been working with Iqbal Khan, Srishti Singh and the rest of the cast?

It’s been a truly wonderful experience. There’s a very positive and collaborative energy on set, which makes a big difference while working for long hours. Iqbal brings a sense of experience and calmness to the scenes, while Srishti adds a refreshing energy and enthusiasm. The entire cast and crew are incredibly supportive, and there’s a strong sense of teamwork throughout. When you’re surrounded by such an environment, it naturally reflects in the performances and helps bring out the best in everyone.

Without revealing too much, what can audiences expect from the upcoming episodes?

Viewers can expect several emotional twists as deeper layers of the story begin to unfold. Relationships will be tested in unexpected ways, and certain truths coming to light may change everything for the characters. It’s going to be an emotional rollercoaster, but one that feels very real and relatable. I believe audiences will find themselves very invested in the journey and curious to see what unfolds next.
