Nostalgia took an unexpectedly hilarious turn on the latest episode of Wheel of Fortune as host Akshay Kumar found himself taking a trip down memory lane—though it made him feel a bit more “senior” than he bargained for. While the game was in full swing, contestants Neetu and Andell revealed they had crossed paths with the superstar decades ago, leading to a comedic “age-check” that left Akshay questioning his own timeline.
The trip down memory lane began with Neetu, who shared a heartwarming story from her school days in Rajasthan. She recalled being in the 9th grade when she spotted Akshay shooting for a film. In a gesture that defined his fan-friendly nature even then, Akshay had personally called over a group of schoolgirls, including her, to distribute autographs she stated “Aapne hum girls ko dur se bulaya, aapki taraf aur apne hum sabko autograph diya, voh autograph pata nahi mujhe phir ghar mein mili nahi, toh main chahati hoon aap aaj mujhe firse aapke haatho se mujhe ek autograph dijiye.”
Akshay was visibly amused, realizing just how much time had passed since that Rajasthan schedule. The nostalgia trip continued with Andell, who revealed his own brush with stardom. He shared that he had met Akshay during the filming of the 1997 hit Aflatoon at Mumbai’s iconic Marine Drive—back when he was only in the 5th grade. Akshay after listening to these stories of the contestants meeting him in their childhood made him point out to the audience “Aaj lagta hain, meri beizzati ka din hain, kuch karna padega meri umar ka.”
He looked towards the third contestant Archana who mentioned to him unlike Neetu and Andell she unfortunately did not cross paths with him in her childhood by stating “Main toh aapko first time dekh rahi hoon life mein lekin kaash main aapko pehle milin hoti.” Akshay’s instant relief to her response was “ Lekin main lucky hoon aapne mujhe pehle nahi dekha.”
This hilarious trip down memory left Akshay questioning his own timeline after realising he crossed paths with the contestants during their childhood but at the same time it proves that Akshay’s charm, much like his films, is truly timeless.
