Sony SAB’s Itti Si Khushi revolves around the life of Anvita (Sumbul Touqeer Khan), a young woman who has taken responsibility for her family during difficult times. The show brings forth a powerful emotional phase in Anvita’s life, as she faces one of her toughest challenges yet. Having always strived for her siblings and family, Anvita now finds herself in a legal battle that could change their future forever. After deciding to divorce Sanjay (Rishi Saxena), she must now fight for the custody of her siblings.
In the upcoming episodes, the story takes an intense turn when the court grants Sanjay temporary custody of the siblings for two weeks. Concerns about Anvita’s financial instability and the fragile environment at her home lead to this decision. With Sanjay’s stable job and secure circumstances, the court decides that the siblings will stay with him until further review. However, the court gives Anvita three weeks to prove that she can provide a stable and secure life for them.
To regain custody, she must fulfill three key conditions, deposit a fixed amount in her siblings’ names to show financial stability, ensure her home environment is calm despite Hetal’s (Neha SK Mehta) bipolar condition and Suhas’ (Varun Badola) health issues, and create a safe space for the children. While the siblings may meet her voluntarily during this period, the pressure of meeting these expectations weighs heavily on her. Already dealing with the emotional strain of her impending divorce, Anvita now has to prove that she can protect and provide for the very family she has always stood up for.
Sumbul Touqeer Khan playing the role of Anvita, shared, “These scenes are very emotional to shoot because Anvita’s siblings mean everything to her. There were moments while performing where I could feel how scared she is of losing them, even though she tries to stay strong on the outside. I could feel her fear of losing them and the pressure of proving herself. She is already dealing with a separation, and now she has to show that her home is stable and safe. That mix of helplessness and strength made these scenes very special for me. It’s not just about the court case for her; it’s about keeping her family together.”
