Anandita Sahoo from Satyaa Sachee and Other Sun neo Actress Shared Their Diwali Memories to Readers
Celebrating Diwali : Memories from Sun Neo Serial Stars
As the festival of lights approaches, the atmosphere is filled with the glow of diyas, the aroma of sweets, and the sweetness of nostalgia. This Diwali, three popular Sun Neo actresses – Megha Ray from “Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani,” Gauri Shelgaonkar from “Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri – Beendani,” and Anandita Sahoo from “Satyaa Sachee” – share their childhood Diwali memories and preparations for this year’s festivities.

Megha Ray, who plays Divya in ‘Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani’, says, “After Navratri, I feel a different kind of joy as the anticipation for Diwali increases. When the fragrance of sweets, flowers, and diyas wafts through the air, it feels as if the entire atmosphere is magical. For me, Diwali is a special time to spend with family, where we do everything together, cleaning the house, decorating it, and lighting the diyas. I don’t like bursting firecrackers because I have pets at home and I know how much the loud noise disturbs the animals and birds. This year, I will celebrate Diwali with my family as well as with my new family on the set of ‘Divya Prem‘.”
Gauri Shelgaonkar, who plays Ghevar in “Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri – Beendani,” says, “Diwali has always been my favorite festival. Ever since childhood, I would get so excited whenever the festival arrived. My mother would prepare a variety of dishes, such as laddus, chivda, chakli, and more. My brother and I loved chakli the most, and we would finish it so quickly that my mother would have to make it again. I also loved making large, colorful rangolis outside the house. This year, I took a few days off from shooting for “Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri – Beendani” to go home and celebrate Diwali with my family. I can’t wait to eat home-cooked food with my family and enjoy this festival to the fullest.”
Anandita Sahoo, who plays Satya in “Satyaa Sachee,” shares, “Some memories never fade, and my childhood in Odisha is one of the most memorable moments.” Diwali is one of them. I remember, on Kartik Purnima, we all lit lamps on the banks of the Mahanadi River. The entire city would glow with diyas, and the aroma of Chhena Poda and Mangal sweets would add to the beauty. Even today, those memories bring a smile to my face. This year, I will celebrate Diwali in the traditional way: decorating my house with Jhoti (rangoli), lighting diyas, performing puja, and enjoying homemade sweets. I will also celebrate the festival with my ‘Satya Sachi’ family by sharing sweets on the set. After all, the true meaning of Diwali is sharing love, light, and happiness.
