JioStar has strengthened its anti-piracy enforcement efforts during the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2026, undertaking coordinated action against unauthorized applications and rogue websites illegally streaming its premium cricket content.
Over recent weeks, JioStar has targeted a network of illicit IPTV applications that were unlawfully disseminating JioStar’s content, including live ICC T20 World Cup matches, without licence or authorization. Several widely used IPTV player applications including XCIPTV, Televizo, IPTV Smarters Pro, VU IPTV Player and XTV Ultra IPTV Media Player have been removed from the Google Play Store as part of a broader enforcement action covering 36 infringing applications across Google Play and iOS platforms, which collectively accounted for over 26.11 million global downloads.

This app-level intervention builds on prior criminal enforcement measures initiated by JioStar against organised piracy networks, including action last year that resulted in the shutdown of a large-scale infringing IPTV operation serving millions of users worldwide.
In parallel, pursuant to a dynamic injunction granted by the Hon’ble Delhi High Court, JioStar has suspended 141 piracy websites globally during the tournament, disrupting an estimated 12.2 million instances of infringing traffic. A further 279 websites carrying unauthorized streams, with over 2 million in combined traffic, have been blocked at the ISP level under the same judicial order.
Beyond domain-level and app-store enforcement, JioStar’s Anti-Piracy team has acted in real time against 15 additional third-party applications, impacting an estimated 11.5 million piracy-driven traffic instances. The whole strategy behind such disruptions is to divert legit audiences to JioStar/JioHotstar platforms. These coordinated measures reflect a sustained and technology-enabled approach to protecting broadcast reproduction rights during live sporting events. By strengthening enforcement across websites, applications, and intermediary platforms, JioStar continues to support a secure and lawful digital viewing ecosystem for cricket fans accessing coverage through its official platforms.
