The Star Network`s Kannada General Entertainment Channel Suvarna announces the launch of “Star Singer ” a Music based reality show. “Star Singer” is an entertainment based competitive show for singers with the objective of identifying the best singer. The show goes on air from January 5 th 2014, Sunday @ 9:00 PM. Vijay Prakash has been roped as the mentor for this show.

TV actress Rajani (Amrutha) the lead protagonist of Amruthavarshini and Shiney (Madhava) from Meera Madhava are also the participants in this show. The Channel has already shortlisted 16 participants who will compete for the title.

The USP of this show is that the contestants will be judged by the studio audience & Vijay Prakash will mentor these singers. There will be elimination in every episode. Also there is a prize money to be won in every episode by the contestants. Star Singer will be anchored by Kaavya Shastri and Niranjan Deshpande.
