From a Common man to CM, rise of Aam Aadmi Party only on IBN-Lokmat

Aam Aadmi Party

It is unbelievable that just one year old party can form government in as crucial constituency as Delhi. But Aam Admi Party(AAP) did it and proved all speculations wrong. After much of political up down as per public opinion Arvind Kejriwal vowed as Delhi’s seventh and youngest chief minister at Ramlila Maidan. Within a week of taking charge as CM, Arvind Kejriwal is in action already. With immediate back to back decisions he has made it clear that he will keep his promises. On his third day as Delhi CM, he declared the supply 700 litres of free water for Delhi per day effective from January 1, 2014. In the light of this Reportaaz takes you through successful journey of AAP with the maker himself. Hear Arvind Kejriwal share his views about what it takes to build a party with Anubha Bhonsle, Senior Editor, CNN-IBN. Tune into Reportaaz this Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 11.30 am and 8.30 pm only on IBN-Lokmat.

Since the inception, AAP members with their leader Arvind Kejriwal made it clear that they will stand by what they promised before elections. The Aam Aadmi Party follows the principle of “swaraj,” the Gandhian concept of self-rule, or rule of the people. Kejriwal strongly believes that his government is government of common people of Delhi. Unlike earlier politicians with their VIP convoy and grand houses, Kejriwal had firmly that no one from party’s elected candidates including chief minister Kejriwal will take security cover or red-beacon official vehicles if they are to come in power and they will also stay away from Private Security Officer (PSO) and escort vehicle.

They say, in India corruption prevails at all levels. Today, a common man, Arvind Kejriwal claims to provide a corruption free nation and he has launched the Aam Aadmi Party, the party of the “common man” in order to do so. The Aam Aadmi Party follows the principle of “swaraj,” the Gandhian concept of self-rule, or rule of the people, and focuses on issues that concern common people, like “social inequality, health, education, farmer’s rights and price rise.

AAP addressed most of the above mentioned issues during their campaign. AAP has grassroots connect. They realized that huge section of the city’s masses do not have usual availability of basic civil facilities such as water, electricity and healthcare. The AAP has gauged this population wisely. They promised them ample water, interrupted power supply and sufficient healthcare services. Plus, if we look at top line up of AAP leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan, we realize that all of them have humble middle class background and they are highly qualified. This appealed to the public.

AAP has proved age old norm of politics that it takes decades to build up a political party and big names are needed to create party identity don’t work anymore. The generation Y of India is wise enough to take bold steps to change the current political scenario in the nation. The result of party’s creative election campaign and its direct involvement with citizens is outstanding.

Reportaaz, takes you through Aam Aadmi Party’s existence, since the time of inception to present while exploring their journey so far. They have indulged in several activities and campaigns which are going viral as they claim to complete their missions- bringing an end to corruption & begin real development in the country.
